We will take our time to get a full, in depth personal case history. Covering all aspects of your health and lifestyle the main focus however is on your hearing and any associated problems. Contributions from significant others are welcome. Our aim here is to fully understand your hearing needs.
video otoscopy
By inserting a tiny fibre optic camera into your ear canal we can view the whole of your ear canal and ear drum on a large screen in HD which you to can see. We record and photograph these images for our patient records, uploading them to the cloud for onward referral if need be.
audiometry
In our sound proof booth we place headphones both on and behind your ears. This allows us to present you with tones across the frequency range. At times we may have to use masking by introducing some white noise. The responses you give determine the type and degree of your hearing loss.
speech tests
Poor speech discrimination - especially in background noise - is how your hearing loss manifests itself and affects you in everyday life. Our approved speech tests are designed to diagnose your speech comprehension in both quiet and noisy situations providing a fuller understanding of the challenges you face on a daily basis.
results
Having professionally examined and tested your ears, evaluated your speech test scores and assessed your case history we will then share our results with you. Most people find this quite fascinating. Our in depth analyses will include recommendations for healthier hearing which will be unique to you.

If, after all our examinations, our tests show that you would benefit from wearing a hearing aid, we will programme some digital aids to your unique hearing signature.
